Bankruptcy software for attorneys
Counted Bankruptcy is case-preparation software for bankruptcy law firms. Staff enter a case once; the software fills the official forms, runs the checks and puts everything in front of the attorney for review. It is sold only to law firms.
Built around attorney review
Every account belongs to a firm and has a role: attorney, paralegal or client. Paralegals prepare; attorneys review and approve. Court deadlines read from notices go to an approval queue, and client uploads wait for staff review before they touch the case.
What the software prepares
Sources for every rule are listed on the means test, exemptions and e-filing pages.
- Official forms from uscourts.gov: the voluntary petition (B101), Schedules A/B through J, the summary and declaration, the Statement of Financial Affairs (B107), the Statement of Intention (B108), the SSN statement (B121) and the means-test forms.
- The means test for the filing date, using the U.S. Trustee Program tables, with the source of every number shown.
- Georgia exemptions under O.C.G.A. § 44-13-100, including the homestead change on July 1, 2026.
- The N.D. Ga. creditor matrix as a .txt file in the court’s format.
- A Chapter 13 plan worksheet that follows the court’s plan sections.
- An e-filing pre-flight and a NextGen XML draft checked against the national schema.
Security for client data
- Two-step sign-in (authenticator app) is required for every account, with one-time recovery codes.
- Each firm’s sensitive fields and uploaded files are encrypted with that firm’s own key.
- An append-only, hash-chained audit log records sign-ins, case changes and approvals.
- Sign-up, sign-in and 2-step codes are rate-limited.
What the pilot does not do yet
Counted Bankruptcy is in a pilot. We say plainly what is not switched on:
- Electronic filing to the court is off until the N.D. Ga. grants test access (requested September 18, 2026). You download the package and file it yourself.
- Email and text messages are not sent. Invitations and reminders stay in the firm’s outbox for you to copy.
- Credit reports: only a clearly labeled fictional sample report can be “pulled”. You can import a report file you already have.
- No remote AI: document reading (OCR) runs on your own device.
- The official N.D. Ga. Chapter 13 plan is an XFA form and is still completed by hand.
Questions
Can people filing without an attorney use Counted Bankruptcy?
No. Counted Bankruptcy is sold only to law firms. It is not a bankruptcy petition preparer and does not give legal advice. A licensed attorney must review every document before anything is filed.
Can my paralegals use it?
Yes. Staff of a law firm can sign up and work under a supervising attorney. Attorneys invite staff and client-portal users from the firm settings.
How much does it cost?
Payments are not set up during the pilot. The proposed prices after the pilot are on the home page and are marked as proposed; they are not an offer yet.
