Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy explains what Global Home Products Inc, doing business as Counted Legal, collects through Counted Bankruptcy and how it is used. Law firms decide what client information to enter; for that case data we act on the firm’s behalf.

2. What we collect

• Account data: name, work email, firm name, role, and, for attorneys, the bar state and number if you give them; for staff, the supervising attorney’s name and email.
• Sign-up records: the versions of the Terms and this policy you accepted, your professional confirmation, and the time.
• Case data entered by the firm: debtor information, including Social Security numbers, income, property, debts and uploaded documents.
• Security data: sign-in events, IP addresses in the firm’s audit log, and a keyed hash of IP addresses for rate limits.

3. How it is protected

Social Security numbers, authenticator secrets and uploaded files are encrypted with a key that belongs to each firm. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Two-step sign-in is required. Access is limited by role, and changes are recorded in an append-only audit log.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use one strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. The app stores your language choice and an offline copy of case data (without full Social Security numbers) in your browser. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not run third-party trackers.

5. How we use data

Only to provide and secure the Service, to support your firm and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information and do not use case data to train AI models. No remote AI service receives case data during the pilot.

6. Service providers

The Service runs on Cloudflare (hosting, database, key-value storage and file storage). During the pilot no email, text-message or credit-bureau provider receives data. [Owner to list any provider added later.]

7. Retention and deletion

Firm data is kept while the firm’s account is active. A firm’s attorney may ask us to delete the firm’s data. The audit log is append-only and is kept for [retention period – attorney to decide]. [Attorney to review: record-retention duties for law firms and bankruptcy cases.]

8. Your choices

Clients of a firm should contact their law firm about their information. Firm users can ask us for a copy or deletion of their account data.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and accounts are for adults.

10. Changes

We will post changes here with a new version date.
